Absolutely fantastic MB, I have made three trips as far as Almaden (with students) spending time in Chillagoe and returning by bus. The effort that must have gone into building the line a century ago and the spectacular views as you travel through the Featherbed volcanics are amazing. I'm hoping to do the whole trip to Forsayth soon. My biggest fear is that one day soon the line will close because of some government bean counter down in Queen St and we will lose one of the most fascinating train trips left in the world.
